How to add and manage assets

In Tresal, your security visibility starts with Assets. These are the individual items you want to scan and monitor. This article explains what an asset is, how they’re counted, and how to manage them within your workspace.

An Asset is a single, scannable item — such as a:

• Hostname

• IP address

• Website URL

Each asset is treated and scanned individually.

💡 Example:

The following two URLs are counted as 2 separate assets:

Even though they point to the same website, they are distinct hostnames and scanned independently — and therefore billed separately.

💰 Tresal charges by the number of scanned assets. Be mindful of what you add to avoid unnecessary usage.

How to add a new asset

1. Go to the Assets section in the sidebar

2. Click the red + Add Asset button

3. Enter the hostname or IP you want to monitor

4. Add a description (optional)

5. Select the type (e.g. Website)

6. Click Save — the asset will be queued for scanning

Importing multiple assets

You can also upload a list of assets all at once:

• Click Import from .txt

• Upload a text file with one asset per line

• Tresal will import and scan them automatically

Managing existing assets

In the Assets tab, you’ll see all the assets in your workspace with:

• Target name

• Description

• Type (e.g. Website)

• Risk level

• Scan count

• Last scan timestamp

• Options to view details or delete

Pro tip: Clean up unused or irrelevant assets to reduce costs and keep your dashboard focused.
